Praise the Lord!

My husband and I had been married for 10 years without a child. We had gone for many check-ups and seen many doctors about conceiving a baby. Each time we were told that I would never be able to get pregnant. We were very sad and disappointed. This was made even more difficult when people would ask us when we were planning to have a baby. Through these difficult moments, I would just ask Jesus to give me the strength to face people and their questions.

A few years ago one of our friends gave us some CDs of the CRL prayer meetings in Sri Lanka. One day, while on a break at work, my husband listened to one of these CDs and a word of knowledge was given about a person who is suffering without a baby and will be blessed with a baby next year. I also listened to another CD and a word of knowledge was given for a person who is praying for a baby and will be pregnant in one month. We believed these two words of knowledge and it gave us a lot of faith. During this time, we listened to the words of knowledge every day growing in faith and expectation in the miracle the Lord was going to do in our family.

Just as the Lord had said, I became pregnant the following month. I did not work during my pregnancy and therefore we had many financial difficulties, but Jesus took us through every single problem. With each day our faith was increasing and we knew Jesus was in control of our family.

On the 20th of October, 2014 I gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby boy and we named him Shevin. The words of knowledge my husband and I received were spot on. One year from the date we heard these words from God we were holding our son in our arms. Beginning with Shevin’s conception, God has done amazing things in our lives and we praise and thank Him each day. He is the head of our family and centre of our lives.
