Today’s gospel proclamation talks about a simple parable, but it speaks volumes about our faith. Both sons in the parable were given the same instructions and both of them gave quite contrasting answers. The first one refused at the beginning, many of us have been like this son at some point in our lives. We have refused the call of God in our lives. I myself have done this when I knew the Lord calling me to choose teaching as my profession. But I found myself rejecting the idea for many years before I finally accepted the will of the Father. The second son on the other hand accepts the call but doesn’t do anything about it. This happens to most of us Christians. We seem like we accept the call in our lives and are diligently in church every week, but our hearts have not changed. We still live in the flesh not heeding to the call. Are we ready to answer the call of our Lord today?
