The world has values which are different from the values of Christian discipleship. When we try to do the will of the Father, we might be misunderstood. Our Christian discipleship is challenged by the ways of the world. Are we prepared to obey God even when it is difficult? Even in the early church when the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit in the upper room, they were called out as ‘out of mind’. Many saints had similar experiences, as people insulted or questioned their spirituality. When we start to live according to the values of the Kingdom, we might also be called ‘mad’. We should not blame or criticise the people around us for insulting us, instead we are to love them more. This is a part of our discipleship. When we allow the Holy Spirit to take control of our lives we may get insulted by our families, workplace, and the society. Be happy because we are valuable in the eyes of our God who is in control of our life. Let us not seek human praise, instead let us seek to glorify God our Father.
Prayer: Abba Father, help me to live as a true disciple. Amen.
