Today’s Gospel proclamation says that whatever we have said in the darkness will be heard in the light. Sometimes we fear the truth being revealed. Specially when we are guilty of some wrongdoing that can cause negative consequences for us. We may end up fabricating stories to avoid or reduce the risk of facing judgment from those who love us or those who have the power to punish us. When Judas Iscariot realized the magnitude of the sin he committed when he betrayed the Lord Jesus, it was his conscience that killed him in the field of blood. Today in the Gospel proclamation we are reminded that we should be living our lives with a great deal of integrity. Traps of this world such as money, pleasure and comfort can make us forget the value of integrity. The Lord Jesus is inviting us to be cautious when we are not true to ourselves. And he confirms that no guilty soul can remain hidden from being exposed. Whatever we have done in secret will be laid out in the open, so let us do that today, by surrendering the truth of our hearts.
Prayer: Abba Father, give us strength to live with integrity, love and care towards each other. Amen.
