Majesty, Worship his Majesty
  • Daniel 7:9-10,13-14
  • Psalm 97:1-2,5-6,9
  • Mark 9:2-10

Transfigured means having a complete change of form or appearance into a more beautiful or spiritual state. The transfiguration of Jesus depicted his glory and revealed who he was. Why did Moses and Elijah appear? They represented the law and the prophets. The fulfillment of Sacred Scripture is a person; therefore the Word of God sparkled in his true majestic nature on mount Tabor. In the book of Daniel the vision spoke of the Son of man: God’s promise coming into completion; the Word of God who is the second person of the Holy Trinity. The vision helps us to understand the glory and the majesty of God. Something that we need to remember is, this glorified and majestic God left everything behind and took on human flesh because of love. The testimony of the eye witnesses of that glorious moment at mount Tabor explained the unending love of God. The Gospel reading revealed the true glory of God when the voice from the cloud said to “listen to him”.

PRAYER: Abba Father, grant me a spirit of obedience to listen and to obey you. Amen.
