Faith, Wisdom and Courage
  • Ephesians 1:15-23
  • Psalm 8:2-7
  • Luke 12:8-12

In today’s first reading, St. Paul expresses gratitude for the faith and love of the Ephesian believers. He speaks of the importance of spiritual insight and understanding in deepening one’s relationship with God. In today’s Gospel, Jesus speaks about acknowledging him before others, highlighting the significance of openly professing faith despite potential opposition. He reassures his disciples that the Holy Spirit will provide them with the words and wisdom to defend their beliefs when facing adversity. This passage emphasizes the courage and reliance on the Holy Spirit required to stand firm in one’s faith, even in challenging circumstances. Faith, wisdom, and courage are required in the Christian journey. Let us continually seek a deeper understanding of God’s power, while boldly proclaiming our faith, trusting in the Holy Spirit’s guidance. Let our faith be characterized by both knowledge and boldness, grounded in the assurance of God’s sovereignty and presence in every situation.
