Thirtieth Week in Ordinary Time
Transformative Relationship with God
  • Ephesians 6:1-9
  • Psalm 145:10-14
  • Luke 13:22-30

St. Paul provides a framework for harmonious relationships within families and workplaces, emphasizing mutual respect, obedience and fair treatment. His instructions encourage us to act with integrity, reflecting God’s justice and equity in our interactions. The Responsorial Psalm praises God’s sovereignty and compassionate nature, depicting him as a loving ruler who cares for his creation, particularly the marginalized and vulnerable. Today’s Gospel presents Jesus’ teaching on the narrow door, illustrating the exclusivity of salvation and the need for sincere repentance and discipleship. Despite the urgency conveyed, Jesus emphasizes that mere association or cultural privilege does not guarantee entry into the kingdom; rather, true belonging comes from a transformative relationship with him. We need to have humility and compassion in our dealings with others, recognizing God’s authority. Let us prioritize spiritual growth and adherence to God’s will.

PRAYER: Abba Father, draw me close to you. Amen.
