Surrender, Trust and Obey
  • Philippians 2:12-18
  • Psalm 27:1,4,13-14
  • Luke 14:25-33

St. Paul urges believers to work out their salvation with fear and trembling, emphasizing the active participation required in the Christian journey. The passage shows the importance of obedience and perseverance in living out one’s faith, despite challenges and hardships. This call to obedience echoes in the Gospel, where Jesus challenges his followers to count the cost of discipleship, emphasizing the need for complete surrender and prioritization of their commitment to him above all else. Both readings emphasize the necessity of trusting in God’s guidance and provision. The Psalm beautifully encapsulates the theme of unwavering trust in God’s protection and guidance. It serves as a reminder that even in the midst of uncertainty and adversity, our faith in God’s goodness should remain steadfast. Let us surrender our lives, trust in him and obey his commands. May we find our refuge and strength in God alone, knowing that he alone is our light and salvation.

PRAYER: Abba Father, grant us the strength to surrender our will to yours, to trust in your unfailing love, and to obey your commands wholeheartedly. Amen.
