Love and Humility
  • Titus 2:1-8,11-14
  • Psalm 37:3-4,18,23,27,29
  • Luke 17:7-10

Many people have a sense of entitlement and often have several expectations. This seems to be the way of the world. But our Lord Jesus warns us that we ought to serve with no expectations. Serving others in itself is a great reward. Often, when we do something small we want to be recognized for what we have done. We feel a sense of entitlement. The Lord Jesus shows us the opposite: that he came to serve and not to be served. There was humility and love in what the Lord did. The Lord Jesus expects us to have this same attitude of love and humility when we are doing what the Lord wants us to do. We should not allow ourselves to have a sense of pride when we have done something pleasing to the Lord our God. Knowing that we are doing what the Lord wants should be our greatest reward. Let us examine and change our mindsets. Love and humility should be a part of our lives. Are we ready to serve with humility and love?

PRAYER: Abba Father, help me to love and serve in humility. Amen.
