Let yourself be loved
  • Revelation 1:1-4, 2:1-5
  • Psalm 1:1-4, 6
  • Luke 18:35-43

The blind man was heard by Jesus, who stopped immediately and addressed him. Jesus heals him and, he followed him glorifying God. Not only were his physical eyes restored, but the man was captivated by the one who healed him. The blind beggar’s cry is our cry today. It is an invitation for us to open our eyes and see Jesus not with our physical eyes but from the eyes of our spirit. He showed us the extent of his love by giving up his life for us: the greatest sacrifice in history, when one man died for the sins of all the people. He longs to reveal his plan; the true purpose for our lives. The message of the book of Revelations is relevant to us even today. “Our lives become useful if it is lived for the purpose for which we have been chosen.” A father who lost his 3 year old son to cancer, printed a remembrance card, which read: “The important thing in life is not to do something, but to be born and to let yourself be loved.” (Fr. Julian Carron)

PRAYER: Abba Father, have mercy on us. Amen.
