Taste and See
  • Revelation 10: 8-11
  • Psalm 119: 14,24,72,103,111,131
  • Luke 19: 45-48

In the first reading the angel instructs John to digest the word of God to continue his mission as one of the powerful evangelists preaching the word of God. If we are to follow the mission of Christ we need to keep pondering on the word of God. When we meditate on the word of God in spirit it is much sweeter than honey where we desire to taste more and more. Our foundation in the spiritual journey is very important to stand firm on. The foundation is only built by our faith in the truth revealed through promises in the scriptures. In today’s Gospel we see the power of the word, when elders wanted to kill Jesus for his actions, they could not lay a hand on him. He was surrounded by those who had been healed by him and those who were impressed by his teachings. They became a shield. How much the word of God can influence our faith journey will depend on how much time we spend on pondering on the word of God.

PRAYER: Abba Father, give us the grace to sit at your feet to meditate upon your word. Amen.
