Eternal life in Heaven
  • Revelation 20:1-4,11--21:2
  • Psalm 84:3-6,8
  • Luke 21:29-33

Today’s first reading illustrates how the earth will pass away. John’s vision de- scribed a new heaven and a new earth. All the dead will be judged according to what they have done and what has been recorded in the books. It emphasises that all our actions will be taken in to account. Jesus said that whoever believes in him will not perish but will have eternal life. Believing in him is to believe his word and put it into action through the power of the Holy Spirit. In today’s Gospel, Jesus reminds us that even if heaven and earth shall come to pass his words shall never pass away. Many people have believed in Jesus and experienced transformation. They lived his words and had a powerful impact on the world around them. They are the ones who inherited the kingdom of God. Some of them have been canonized as saints. Let us allow our bridegroom to be our Lord and live in his word, so that he may he take us to his eternal home one day.

PRAYER: Abba Father, our king and God, bless us to live in your kingdom. Amen.
