Go to the lost sheep
  • Isaiah 30:19-21,23-26
  • Psalm 147:1-6
  • Matthew 9:35-10:1,5-8

In today’s Gospel reading we see how Jesus is moved with love and compassion for his people. He summoned his disciples, gave them authority over the unclean spirits and power to heal the sick. He then sent them out to the lost sheep. He knew the harvest was abundant but the laborers were few. He asks us to see the people as he sees them. When we do, we pray for the harvest. We pray for the salvation of souls, for the workers, servers, and givers. We can do this by going into the fields, and doing our part. Our mission is to tell people about the Lord of the harvest. When we look at the fields it can appear overwhelming but if we listen to God we will be guided to the ones he wants us to help. It may be just one person at a time. Sometimes just being with someone is enough. Let us ask the Lord to stir our hearts, and give us the grace to be laborers for his harvest. Let us carry God’s love to others. May he help us to do more.

PRAYER: Abba Father, may we share your love with others. Amen.
