Trust in Providence
  • Exodus 17:8-16
  • Psalm 95:1-3,7-10
  • Acts 16:25-33
  • John 2:1-12

Today’s readings offer us a profound reflection on trust in God’s providence. In the first reading, we see Moses interceding for Israel as they battle the Amalekites. When his hands are lifted in prayer, the Israelites prevail, symbolizing the power of steadfast faith and intercession. Similarly, in the second reading, Paul and Silas, though imprisoned, trust in God, singing hymns in the dark. Their faith sets them free, and their witness leads to the conversion of the jailer and his family. The Gospel reading recounts the Wedding at Cana, where Mary’s trust in Jesus prompts him to perform his first miracle, turning water into wine. Mary’s simple instruction, “Do whatever he tells you,” reflects her deep trust in God’s plan and her role as a loving intercessor. Let us remember the importance of trusting in God’s providence, especially in times of trial. Through the intercession of Our Lady of Lanka, may we find the strength to remain faithful, knowing that God is always at work in our lives.

PRAYER: Abba Father, strengthen our trust. Amen.
