During a journey to the Loreto convent in Darjeeling, Mother Teresa experienced a profound calling from God. She felt compelled to leave the convent and serve the poorest in Kolkata. A ‘call within a call’, a deeper, more precise calling that she felt she received from God within the scope of her vocation. Despite facing numerous challenges and obstacles, including poverty, disease, and criticism, she remained steadfast in her commitment to caring for those in need. Mother Teresa was faithful and obedient to God’s call. Like the disciples who obeyed Jesus’ instructions despite doubts, we too can witness his miraculous provision through obedience. This experience reminds us of God’s abundant provision in times of scarcity. We often face situations that seem impossible and overwhelming. How many of us have faith in God’s power, knowing that he is able to work miracles? Challenged by spiritual hunger and physical needs, there is a ‘call within a call’ waiting for us too.

PRAYER: Abba Father, grant us the courage to answer the deeper calling within our vocation, to follow your divine plan. Amen.
