In today’s Gospel Proclamation Jesus speaks to us of the importance of reconciliation and repentance. Often, we bring our offerings to the Lord but our hearts are not right with God. We carry hatred, bitterness and unforgiveness towards our brothers and sisters. The Lord is inviting us to turn towards him in repentance and be transformed into his image carrying his light to the world. As we receive this transformation, it makes it easy to forgive the unforgivable, to love the unlovable, and to live in peace with one another. In the first reading it is said: “where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom”. How does one receive such freedom? Can we still have freedom in a corrupt world? These were some of the questions that I had in my mind until I came into this experience. The Lord promises us this freedom when our hearts are reconciled with him and with one another. It is only when we experience the Spirit of the Lord in our lives that we will have true and everlasting freedom. Are we enjoying this freedom?
Prayer: Abba Father, by your grace, help me to be reconciled with others. Amen.
