Believe and be saved
  • Jeremiah 7:23-28
  • Psalm 95:1-2, 6-9
  • Luke 11:14-23

The prophet Jeremiah says that people’s hardheartedness and disobedience was so much that they refused to believe and obey God. When Jesus healed the demon possessed dumb man, people could not accept that. Just as Pharaoh’s heart was hard, so were the hearts of those around Jesus. Has much changed today? Don’t we still question this same God who sent his Son to die for us so that we may share his inheritance and have eternal life? We are not able to believe in God’s power to liberate us. Instead, we take control and act as if God does not exist and blame him for what goes wrong in our lives. Isn’t this the reality of the lives of many who have been consumed by consumerism, chasing behind the values of the world and seeking acceptance from the world? They resist the Kingdom Principles. The season of Lent is a good time to see where we stand. Do we believe that the kingdom of God is in our midst, or do we continue to resist it?

PRAYER: Abba Father, help my unbelief. Amen.
