When the light of the world arrived the powers of the world were threatened. Herod was insecure and tried to destroy the coming King, plotting and killing many infants trying to get rid of the threat. The evil of the world trembles and fears before Christ and his message and tries to do everything possible to keep the Gospel message at bay. Yet, God sends angels to prevent such destructive forces, protects and preserves his people. When the Gospel message is proclaimed, there can be resistance from the world. Proclaiming the Gospel values could lead to arguments with others. Our calling is not to engage in endless arguments but to share the truth of God’s word, and allow God to do the rest. Those who belong to the light and follow the truth will be able to lead others through their life examples. Let us strive to live by the values of the Gospel: love, mercy and truth. When we do that, we will know the value of each person as a child of God.
PRAYER: Abba Father, make me a channel of your truth and grace to stand firm in my beliefs and principles radiating your light. Amen
