During the time of Jesus, the scribes and Pharisees had burdened the people with having to observe about 630 commands more than having a relationship with God. The Lord calls us to come to him and learn from him. He is love personified. He is empowering us to love God and neighbor through his Spirit within us. Do we accept the invitation to come to him? Close proximity to the Lord will open our hearts to his thoughts. Coming to him opens our minds to his ideas, corrections and even the occasional ‘not that way, do it this way’. Our minds will be opened to his promptings and recollections of his Words from scriptures. Sometime ago I used to have blackouts. I thought to myself, God is not aware of my predicament or does not care. The Lord said: ‘Why do you say I am not aware or I do not care? See my creation: I know every one and every thing’. “They that hope in the Lord will run and not grow weary, walk and not grow faint.” Coming to the Lord gradually healed me.
PRAYER: Abba Father, I praise you for your Son who calls me to cast my burdens on him to help me carry them Amen.
