Disappointment opens doors to divine appointments
  • Amos 3:1-8; 4:11-12
  • Psalm 5:4-8
  • Matthew 8:23-27

Jesus got into a boat: the Lord gets into the conveyance of our lives on the journey to our eternal home. We are invited to follow him. Our daily life is not without its “violent storms”. We however, expect things to be smooth sailing: without economic upheavals, family misunderstandings, chaotic situations, sicknesses or disappointments. When we face such situations, we might cry out “Lord save us, we are perishing.” He will give a startling rebuke “Why are you terrified, O you of little faith”. This is the unique revelation in knowing the Lord, which opens another realm. Only when we agree to walk with the Lord could this latent power be unleashed. Interaction and listening to the silent promptings of his Word open that unique passage through which we follow him. Facing the ravages of life then ceases to be daunting and becomes redemptive and enriching. Sadly only a few follow him. Opting only on the externals of religion. They lose receiving that awesome power lying latent.

PRAYER: Abba Father, you are teaching us that every disappointment opens doors to an appointment with you on this journey of life. Thank you. Amen.
