Today’s readings emphasize how God can bring hope to hopeless situations. The first reading speaks of a barren woman and the Gospel speaks of a woman advanced in age. Their situations seemed hopeless, yet God intervened and worked miracles in their barren situations. Many people have a lack of understanding and faith in this mighty power of God. Yet, everything is possible to the believer, as we receive according to our faith. On several occasions, Jesus said that it was a person’s faith that had healed them. Let us turn to God in our difficult situations: hoping and depending on him. Our lives won’t be the same as we have a God who is there for us. When we trust in him in the most difficult and desperate events, things will change according to his divine will. If God could resurrect Jesus from the dead and place a child in a virginal womb, is anything too difficult for him? Let us look at him, place our trust and depend on him for everything.
PRAYER: Abba Father, increase my faith in you. Amen.
