Forgiveness and Transformation
  • Exodus 3:1-8 , 13-15
  • Psalm 103:1-4,6-8,11
  • 1 Corinthians 10:1-6, 10-12
  • Luke 13: 1-9

Isn’t it common thinking in our society that bad things happen to people because of the bad that they have done? This is a good time to examine our hearts and see if we too have fallen into this way of thinking. Jesus teaches us that all of us are sinners. Lent is a time given for us to straighten our paths. Jesus used the Parable of the Barren fig tree to give us a message on repentance and bearing fruit. A fig tree starts bearing fruit when the tree is about 3-4 years old. In the parable the owner seeks fruit at 3 years and when he found no edible fruit, decides to cut the tree. We are unable to bear fruits or do the mission we have been sent to do on this earth, when we are in sin. Repentance and confession will bring forgiveness and transformation. Let us ask the Holy Spirit to reveal into our hearts the things that are not pleasing to the Lord. The hidden sins, the negativities deep in our hearts that make us behave in ways that are not pleasing to the Lord.

PRAYER: Abba Father, help me to recognize my sins and come to true repentance. Amen.
