God seeks and loves us
  • Hosea 14:2-10
  • Psalm 81:6-11, 14, 17
  • Mark 12:28-34

In the scriptures we see some people’s hearts hardening. This means they were following their own ways and understanding without listening to God. God wants us to listen to him because he knows that his children need his guidance and wisdom to walk on the path that he has prepared for them. When we realize that the path we were walking on, is not the path he wanted us to, and when we repent, he is there to accept us. Today’s Gospel reading reflects on the commandment to love God (Mark 12:30). When I look back, I see the reason why I gave the first place in my life to the Lord. He loved me first. When I was broken my God found me. He came seeking me out and loved me. He filled the emptiness within me. He set me straight, accepted me, adopted me, healed me and lifted me up to the place and relationship I have with him today. I am lost in his love and have surrendered my life to him. When we love God we will hunger and desire to love others the way he wants us to.

PRAYER: Abba Father, let me never forget that you loved me first. Let your love be my guiding light all the days of my life. Amen.
