Twenty-seventh Week in Ordinary Time
Goodness of God
  • Galatians 3:7-14
  • Psalm 111:1-6
  • Luke 11:15-26

Often we are quick to judge others. We like to see a glass half empty instead of seeing it as half full. We are eager to see the negative in situations than the positive. If we cannot believe in the Lord’s goodness we are wasting the things he has given us. We too can be blind to the presence of God’s kingdom among us, to the presence of the Lord and the presence of goodness. To see good and to judge it to be evil is a form of blindness. Jesus is also warning us about the demons that could be in our own lives. Temptations, weaknesses are all around us. Some may look small and insignificant, but if we give into them things may become bad for us resulting in dangerous and disastrous consequences spiritually and otherwise. The reality is that we need to be vigilant always so that we do not allow these demons to get us before we realise it. We must always remember that we have the Holy Spirit for our protection. Jesus is all powerful and there is nothing he cannot do.

PRAYER: Abba Father, may I see goodness around me. Amen.
