“This is the day the Lord has made; let us be glad and rejoice in him.” This is our hope as we encounter the risen Christ. We become people of the resurrection, and Alleluia is our song. Thus, the gift of hope is given to all. In today’s Gospel proclamation the joyful news of Jesus’ resurrection is received with mixed emotions: uncertainty and anxiety, which also bring in us both fear and joy. We go through these aspects of faith in our spiritual journey with our shortcomings and weaknesses. However, Jesus gives us a new way to look at these by asking us not to be afraid. His words of reassurance are: “Do not be afraid”. He addressed the women who met him in their fear. It led to a transformation of joy, peace and comfort. Each day, as we begin our journey, let us remind ourselves of the reassuring words of the Risen Lord: “do not be afraid”. With joy, let us build hope in ourselves and others. Let his word be our cry during uncertainties: “O God, you are my hope”.
PRAYER: Abba Father, I hope in you. Alleluia. Amen.
