“It could be said that each mystery of the rosary, carefully meditated, sheds light on the mystery of man. To pray the rosary is to hand over our burdens to the merciful hearts of Christ and our Mother.” (Saint John Paul II) As we celebrate the memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary, let us strive to pray the rosary meditatively. In today’s readings we see the consolation of Jerusalem. Jesus seeing his disciples experiencing divine power, expresses his joy to the Father in gratitude. Our Father wants his love and mercy to come alive in us, he wants us to know the joy which comes from being filled with the Spirit. The power and authority revealed through Jesus and the extent of power that can be wielded in our own lives to do the same works is immense. How do we open ourselves to the work of God in us? It means carving a space and time for prayer. Let us seek the intercession of the Blessed Mother, read the scriptures, and ask the Holy Spirit to bring the Word to life in a deeper and inspiring way.
Prayer: Abba Father, may I be open to your work in my life. Amen.
