How often do we pray? How consistent is our prayer? How confident are we that God hears us? Mathew 21:22 says “whatever you ask for in prayer with faith you will receive”. Mark 11:24 says “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer you will receive if you have faith.” Faith is the base. The Gospel of Mathew exemplifies it further to say God gives good things to those who ask him. How do we know what is good for us? Only the Holy Spirit can reveal this to us. In the first reading we see how Esther is moved by the Spirit to pray for the liberation of her people and God’s faithfulness to her. In this first week of Lent, let us explore our prayer lives. Not just our words but gazing into the heart of God which will move the spirit into action, believing who God is and who we are. “Prayer is a breath of faith; it is its most proper expression. Like a cry that issues from the heart of those who believe and entrust themselves to God.” Pope Francis.
PRAYER: Abba Father, we seek you with all our hearts. Amen.
