Jesus knows me in and out
  • Revelation 21:9-14
  • Psalm 145:10-13,17-18
  • John 1:45-51

In the Gospel reading, we see the transformation of Nathanael from a non-believer to a believer in his first meeting with Jesus. When Jesus called Nathanael a “true Israelite,” the Lord affirmed his character as a godly man. Then, Jesus astonished Nathanael, by referring to Nathanael’s experience under the fig tree. Jesus’ greeting not only caught Nathanael’s attention but also, by its penetrating insight, threw him off guard. Nathanael was stunned to learn that the Lord already knew him and that he was aware of his movements. Jesus speaks to us through the life of Nathanael. The Lord is aware of our movements, he who formed us knows us in and out. We no longer need to beg or plead with the Lord because he sees our pain, he knows our struggles and he is calling us to a deeper encounter with him, to discern his heart and mind. He is inviting us to hold on to him in faith and to believe that nothing is impossible for him. As our minds accept this truth, we will be transformed and set free.

PRAYER: Abba Father, I pray for the grace to sit at your feet and to discern your will for my life. Amen.
