How blessed are we if we can say the words of St. Paul from today’s first reading: “My conscience does not accuse me of anything”. Is our conscience clear before God? Do we still have hidden areas of sin and shame which weigh us down? It is said that sin thrives in secret. The more we hide our true self, the more lies we would have to say to maintain the false image. In Christ, we can be who we are, we do not have to be ashamed. As we give the truth of our hearts let us give everything over to the Lord in perfect surrender. Then the Lord will empower us in his Holy Spirit, so that we can become authentic witnesses of the Gospel. As we wait for the return of Jesus, the bridegroom, let us be ready, for we do not know when he will come. If we are honest, sincere, genuine, true and authentic, we have nothing to fear. The Lord who sees even the secret intentions of our hearts will reward us accordingly. Let us continue to hold on to Jesus, trusting in his mercy, love and grace.
Prayer: Abba Father, help me to sincerely follow your commandments. Amen.
