In today’s first reading we encounter Susanna, a woman of integrity, who is falsely accused by corrupt elders. Despite the grave injustice, Susanna’s faith remains unwavering. Her prayer is answered through the intervention of the young prophet Daniel, who exposes the lies of the elders and saves her from death. This story is a powerful reminder of God’s justice and the victory of truth over deceit. It encourages us to trust in God’s light, even in the darkest situations. In the Gospel reading, Jesus declares, “I am the light of the world.” He illuminates truth and guides us through life’s challenges. Jesus, like Daniel, stands against falsehood and brings forth divine justice. These readings call us to reflect on our lives. Are we living in the light of Christ, standing for truth, and seeking justice? Lent is a time to examine our hearts, to root out false hood, and to recommit ourselves to walking in the light, trusting that God’s justice will prevail in our lives.
PRAYER: Abba Father, may we walk in your light. Amen.
