Today’s Gospel proclamation talks about how Jesus heals a man with a withered hand on the sabbath. The people gathered at the synagogue were waiting to see if Jesus would break the law. Jesus was concerned about healing this man. Jesus was passionate about life. Often we are caught up in rituals and traditions but do not have passion in life. We hardly see any miracles happening in our lives, there is dryness. We live, while not expecting anything to happen. We are focused on following traditions and judging those who do not. But how much have we changed internally? Jesus reminds us that he is the Lord of the Sabbath and it his will to heal, to give life and to forgive sins. His grace fills us with his love. It is more than just going through the process. Today Jesus calls us to live with passion: to expect miracles and healings, to hear his voice and his leading and to follow his commands. Are we ready to encounter the living God? Or will we continue to evade his presence?
Abba Father, come into my heart, let me experience your presence all the days of my life. Amen.
