Today’s readings prompt us to have faith in God as Abraham did. Actually it was his faith in God that made him the father of many nations. It was not his righteousness, obedience to the law or his self efforts that qualified him to be the Father of Faith, but rather his faith. Today in the Gospel reading we come across the foster father of Jesus. Another exemplary character, who acted and lived his entire life for the Love of God and faith. If Joseph had not taken Mary as his wife and surrendered to the will of the Father, in faith and obedience, what would have been the result of it? Therefore, when we have faith, we have a treasure in an earthen vessel. Even Jesus praised people of faith. The Lord was moved to perform miracles for people with extraordinary faith. Truly our faith can move mountains. Therefore let us ask the Lord to increase our faith. To believe in the impossible, that they may all be possible with God’s favour upon us.
PRAYER: Abba Father, we pray for unwavering faith, to fulfil your will and mission. Amen.
