Today’s Gospel proclamation talks about the two great commandments of Jesus: to love God with all our heart, all our soul and all our mind, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. When we wholeheartedly follow these two commandments the other commandments fall into place. They will inevitably be adhered to. Following the Ten Commandments is hard. But if we love God with all our hearts then these actions become joyful. We will look forward to communing with our one true love. When we love God he fills us with his love which will overflow from us. This great love makes us want to share our love with our brothers and sisters. This love will encourage us to keep the commandments. Loving God with all our heart, all our soul and all our mind elevates our mission to another level. We start to experience his tangible presence and miracles become a part of our daily lives. Are we ready to love the Lord with all that we are and love our neighbors as ourselves?
