In today’s Gospel we hear the parable of the Good Samaritan. Even though we have listened to this story many times, the message remains powerful and relevant and is worth pondering upon. Today, we barely have to venture far out into poor neighbourhoods or take a trek down dangerous roadways to stumble across suffering and injustice. It is readily lurking around the corner, right at our doorsteps, in the lives of our near and dear ones, sometimes veiled and concealed, but very much real, wanting immediate attention. The word of God tells us that our response should be one of love just like the Samaritan did in the parable and like our Lord displayed on the Cross. Honourable as it may sound, putting our love into action may not come as easily. On this memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary, we are reminded of our very sure help in the hour of our need. Through the powerful intercession of our blessed Mother, may we have the grace to love one another as our Lord himself has loved us.
PRAYER: Abba Father, thank you for the gift of our beloved Mother. Amen.
