Missionary Zeal and Faith
  • Jeremiah 1:4-9
  • Psalm 117:1,
  • 1 Corinthians 9:16-19,22-234-9
  • Mark 16:15-20

In today’s first reading, God assures us of his divine purpose and presence, saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.” This intimate knowledge and calling remind us of St. Francis Xavier’s journey, driven by a deep sense of divine mission. All we have is a gift from God. Francis Xavier, despite his immense success, remained humble, attributing his achievements to God’s grace. He was dedicated to God’s work, despite hardships and misunderstandings. Jesus’ missionary mandate was the cornerstone of Francis Xavier’s life. His journeys across Asia, preaching, baptizing, and establishing Christian communities, were acts of profound obedience to this divine commission. On this solemnity, we are called to rekindle our missionary zeal, inspired by St. Francis Xavier’s unwavering faith and dedication. Let us seek to emulate his courage and humility, striving to share God’s love and truth with the world, trusting in his guidance and provision.

PRAYER: Abba Father, ignite our missionary spirit. Amen.
