Today’s readings show us the importance of persevering in our faith. God has been faithful even in our difficult times. When we held on to our faith, we have seen the rewards unfolding in amazing ways. The more we dive into the word of God we become stronger in our faith. God’s word can take root in our hearts only if we prepare the fertile ground for it. If the ground is fertile any seed that is sown will give the desired fruits. Our prayer life is the pathway to prepare our hearts to be fertile. So, when God sows the seed we will produce the fruits. In the Gospel reading, we see Jesus speaking about the same seed. Its growth will depend on how fertile our hearts are. When we prepare a fertile ground it will help our spiritual growth through the word of God. The more we grow through the Word, we will be used by God for his mission. When the foundation is strong, we will become strong instruments in building God’s kingdom on earth.
PRAYER: Abba Father, may your word take root in our hearts. Amen.
