Twenty-ninth Week in Ordinary Time
Reflect, Repent and Reconcile
  • Ephesians 4:1-6
  • Psalm 24:1-6
  • Luke 12:54-59

Today’s readings invite us to be vigilant so that we may respond to God’s calling diligently. The world leads us to set our focus on gaining more wealth, power, prestige and position. As a result, many of us who are caught up in this rat race of achieving these worldly pleasures, tend to loose our focus on God and walk in our own ways. We therefore become sensitive and are capable of interpreting the latest trends and changes in the world around us to excel in our career, earn more money, gain popularity, power and other things the world offers us but we fail to recognize and respond to God’s call for us. We forget that our life here on earth is temporary while God offers us eternal life. The first reading reminds us that through Jesus Christ we are called to unite and live a life in the Spirit. Therefore, as invited in the Gospel, let us reflect, repent and reconcile with God before it is too late and let us choose to walk this journey on earth together with him.

PRAYER: Abba Father, direct my path to walk in your ways all the days of my life. Amen.
