Saved by Jesus
  • Hebrews 9:15,24-28
  • Psalm 98:1-6
  • Mark 3:22-30

In the old covenant people offered many sacrifices. But in the new covenant the Lord Jesus died once, for all the sins of the world and the entire universe is set free. He is the Lamb who takes away the sins of the world. We become righteous not by our efforts and good works alone but by the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus. The more we believe this truth on a daily basis we are made righteous with the Lord Jesus. In his presence all the forces of darkness are vanished and Satan is defeated. The Gospel reading shows how those who did not believe in the Lord Jesus gave glory to the rulers of darkness instead of accepting the Holy Spirit at work. Even today we give glory to people instead of God. We seek solutions of the world instead of seeing the true God amidst us. Let us sing a new song to the Lord with the psalmist. The Lord our God is victorious and he has done mighty things for his people. He rules the world with righteousness and justice.

PRAYER: Abba Father, open our inner eyes to see how great and mighty your works are. Amen.
