Today’s first reading prompts us to have a humble spirit, assuring us that God would exalt us in due time. The word “time” here refers to God’s timing. As our God is beyond time, space and matter, we cannot measure time in our human wisdom, when we work in the kingdom of God. We often hear people say we do not have time for God’s work, yet the secret lies there. Every minute, every talent, every resource we utilize and spend in the kingdom is calculated in this mysterious measure. Therefore may we know that time is in God’s hands and he will accomplish whatever he intends in his time. We are instructed in the Gospel proclamation to preach the Gospel to every creature. When we cast a stone into the water it makes ripples. Similarly, when the rock solid word of God sinks into us, it makes impulsive waves and vibrations in the society we live in. If we look closely, our lives become an open book through which people would be able to see the light of the Gospel
PRAYER: Abba Father, may we preach the Gospel in both words and deeds. Amen.
