Twenty-seventh Week in Ordinary Time
Spending time with the Lord
  • Galatians 1:13-24
  • Psalm 139:1-3,13-15
  • Luke 10:38-42

Let us take a moment to deeply consider our devotion to the Lord. Recently, I have been reflecting on my own struggles to prioritize time with the Lord amidst the demands of daily life. The weight of guilt from these struggles has been significant. Despite my efforts to get back on track, I found myself assigning blame to various obligations, from accompanying my children to their activities, to work commitments, and even community responsibilities the list seemed endless. We are at varying points in our spiritual journey towards eternity, and it is easy to overlook the significance of this eternal perspective. Today’s Gospel enlightens us with the story of Mary, who chose what was most valuable, a choice that was affirmed by Jesus. Identifying and focusing on what is truly important in our daily lives is crucial for maintaining a direct connection with Jesus. Prioritizing quiet time to sit before the Lord will ensure a continuous and clear path to him.

PRAYER: Abba Father, help me make sitting beside your Son to be the ‘better part’ of my daily life. Amen.
