David suffers over the war raised by his son. David was sought for by Saul although he did no evil. He got opportunity to destroy him but left it for God. This same David saw his life under threat and his son determined to kill him after declaring himself a true enemy. David’s response when the news came of his son’s death: “My son Absalom! If only I have died instead of you!”. From a “king and a victor” he became a grieving father.
How can we face this spiritual battle and make a difference? Jairus was a leader at the Synagogue in Capernaum. When he was in need and fell into misfortune, he ran to the Lord Jesus for help. Jesus like David moved with charity and love, brought healing to the daughter. Jesus was moved with pity on the woman with flow of blood and allowed the power of healing to flow into her removing her misfortune saying: “Daughter your faith has made you well; go in peace and be healed of your disease”.
Abba Father, may we have loving hearts like Jesus. Amen.
