In today’s Gospel proclamation, the Lord enters the house of Martha, Mary and Lazarus. His presence makes it a holy and rewarding place. Our home too is meant to be such when we welcome the Lord. Welcoming him entails listening to his words and abiding by it. The purpose being to allow the Lord to be involved in looking after the family. Thus our’s too could become a holy and blessed family. Many families do not listen to his teachings. No wonder we are anxious, worried and troubled. Then shocked when drugs, misbehavior, disobedience, broken marriages and unfaithfulness enter our homes. The Lord invites us to listen to the secrets of the Kingdom. Thus we need to live and teach our spouse and children to tell the truth, forgive one another and fight against personal dishonesty and cheating. God would then reign supreme in our homes. Marriages shall remain secure, children become capable leaders, having the backbone and wisdom to stand up for what is right and be fearless in going against every form of injustice.
Prayer: Abba Father, we surrender our families to you. Amen.
