We are journeying in tough times in the world and many countries are severely affected by economic crises. Perhaps this is also the case within the communities and families that we are part of. Our political, social, and economic systems are in chaos in many ways. More and more people are being pushed below the poverty lines by the same leaders that people put their trust in. Unfortunately, we do not seem to be able to come out of the vicious cycle. The more we try to come out we get further trapped in the situation, thereby losing hope. In today’s Gospel proclamation, we are invited to a life that is full of hope: a hope which is divine and everlasting, a hope that heals and sustains us, hope that builds us and strengthens us. Hope that frees us and takes us out of slavery. This hope comes from the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit who are three in one. To make us one in Him. Our communities need to be united in Him and our nations also need to become one in him. “In Him all the nations will put their hope.” Mt 12:21
Prayer: Abba Father, we pray, that we can put our hope in you, instead of the attractions of this world. Amen.
