We are called to be Holy
  • 1 Corinthians 1:1-9
  • Psalm 145:2-7
  • Mark 6:17-29

Today’s first reading says that God wants us to be holy. To everyone who calls on the name of Jesus Christ as their Lord, God is extending an invitation to be devoted and holy people, for we have been made pure and set apart in the anointed one – Jesus. Grace and endless peace from God are resting on us through the relationship and union that we have with Jesus. We have been made wonderfully rich in every spiritual way, through every kind of blessings and the riches that come from the intimate knowledge of our Lord. Therefore, we do not lack any spiritual gifts. The gifts and graces that we have received are immeasurable, unending, unfailing, unlimited and unmerited. As we eagerly await the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, he will keep us steady and strong to the very end so that we will be found innocent on the day of his coming. God is forever faithful and can be trusted for he has called us to share in the life of his Son – Jesus.

PRAYER: Abba Father, help us to be holy and blameless. Keep us strong till the end… Amen.
