Today’s readings prompt us to re-think, who Christ really is to us. He is Lord and Saviour. As I ponder more…He is the way, the truth and the life. In the depths of my valley, there is no other way I would rather take for all other ‘ways’ lead to destruction. I see the mountain before me and ask ‘where does my help come from?’. My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth (Psalm 121). He is the only ‘way’ that leads me to victory, I the rock that breaks the deception in my heart. Christ is the unchanging ‘truth’. When sorrow fills my heart and I want to break down into despair and self-pity, I will remember; He is ‘Life’ in all its fulness. As I partake of Him in the Eucharist, His life becomes mine. I am set free from bondage. Who is Jesus to me? He is the Way, the Truth and the Life, there is no other. As we celebrate the feast of the two greatest apostles, let us ask for God’s grace to be witnesses to Jesus, who is the only Way to the Father.
Prayer: Abba Father, I need the Lord Jesus more than ever, may he come into my heart to be my Lord and Saviour. Amen.
